Kearsney‘s One-Stripe played spoiler on Saturday as they beat the Green Machine 25-22 on their Old Boy’s Day in Durban.
It was a first win for Kearsney on Glenwood‘s famous Dixon’s Field since 2013.
The visitors strung together strong results in the open age group, winning five of their seven matches.
While it hasn’t been a vintage season for Glenwood, their u16A team has provided plenty of reasons for optimism, especially when considering that the 1st XV is a very young team, and they continued their strong season with a convincing win over Kearsney.
Glenwood made a clean sweep of the u16 matches, but Kearsney cruised to a 19-point win in the u15A showdown. The hosts, however, won three of the four games in the age group. They also added three u14 wins to their tally.
