Maritzburg College‘s 1st XV rugby and 1st XI hockey teams have added extra purpose to their 2024 winter seasons by taking Tries for Lives and Goals for Lives campaigns. Both sides have similar fundraising ambitions.
The Tries for Lives Campaign will be raising R25 000 for Kenosis Community, with the money going towards roofs for two of the non-profit organisation’s homes. Likewise, the Goals for Lives Campaign is raising R25 000 for the same project.
The Kenosis Community is based in Bishopstowe and provides safety, stability, love, hope and opportunity for vulnerable children in need.
Each time the rugby team scores a try, or the hockey team scores a goal, Kenosis Community will benefit.
Maritzburg College has also put out a call to parents, companies, old boys and other supporters of the school to back the campaigns by making a pledge per try or goal, or by making a once-off contribution.
To be part of the fund-raising initiative, please visit either Tries for Lives or Goals for Lives.
