Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival
Durban High School delivered an outstanding performance on day two of the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival and, for the third time in four games, kept their opponents off of the scoreboard.
Westville ground out a hard-fought win over Pearson, Glenwood went down to a very good Dr EG Jansen team, and Kearsney fell to a strong Rondebosch Boys’ High outfit.

Maritzburg College staged a stirring come-from-behind victory over high-flying SACS on Saturday in Johannesburg. College trailed 7-19 at half-time but demonstrated their trademark grit to claim a two-point victory.
Hilton College, meanwhile, shocked Boland Landbou, who had comfortably defeated Maritzburg College on day one.

Hockey
Hilton College continued its impressive start to the 2024 hockey season with a battling win over St David’s Marist Inanda. They then handed Affies a 3-0 loss.
Glenwood, after a couple of good results at the festival, were well beaten by St David’s and by Menlopark, who also beat Glenwood at the Coastal Cup.
Clifton went down to a strong St Stithians team and lost by the odd goal to Menlopark.

RUGBY
St Charles College gritted their teeth and came away with a 22-16 win over St Alban’s College on day two of the Saints’ Sports Festival’s rugby matches.
Michaelhouse won their traditional clash against St Andrew’s College convincingly, while Clifton College lost by just five points to a St Stithians side that is enjoying a good season.

HOCKEY
Kearsney College continued their fine start to the season by claiming two more big scalps, defeating Jeppe and KES, while Northwood went down to Selborne, who have made a blistering start to the season. The Knights, though, claimed a win over St John’s College.
Maritzburg College picked up two wins, cruising past Queen’s College before being put to a severe test by Waterkloof.
St Charles, missing some players through injury, including captain Connor Riley, were well beaten by Selborne.

RUGBY
Northwood, fresh off a 10-7 win over Hilton College, overwhelmed Die Brandwag on Saturday at KES, powering their way to a 50-0 victory. They should be full of confidence for their clash with Hudson Park on Monday. Last year, the Knights won against the same opposition at KES, running in some fantastic tries in a 31-13 victory.
