Sunday’s action at the Glenwood Rugby Festival saw Clifton College and DHS both hit well north of 60 points in their u14 victories, while Glenwood and DHS ran away to big wins in u15 contests.
Clifton picked up a very big win, overrunning Trinity House 69-0, while DHS was every bit as dominant, crushing Volkskool Heidelberg 77-3.
Northwood recorded a good victory over Jim Fouché, winning by 24 points, while Glenwood outlasted Wesvalia 18-12, and the Westville Invitation team won by a converted try over Potchefstroom Volkskool.
Wesvalia had given the Glenwood 1st XV and u14A sides tough games, but Glenwood roared to a 50-0 win in the u15 showdown. DHS kept a clean sheet against Centurion, winning 43-0, while Westville also recorded a comfortable win, defeating Jim Fouché 40-14.
Westville B held off Trinity House 20-14 and Potchefstroom Volkskool scored a 26-15 victory over KZN Development. Northwood, however, were upset by Volkskool Heidelberg, who scraped a narrow 8-5 win.
Just two 2nd XV matches took place, with Westville battling to a seven-point win over Jim Fouché, and Sarel Cilliers easing to a 36-5 defeat of Potchefstroom Volkskool.
The action continues on Monday, with 1st XV and u16 games. There have been a couple of changes made to the u16 fixtures, both on Monday and Wednesday. The revised schedule is below.
