BASKETBALL
A wall of sound, from cheering supporters and drums, surrounded the players as the Hilton and Michaelhouse 1st teams went head-to-head on the basketball court in Balgowan on Saturday. A fast start by the visitors helped them to a narrow win, but Michaelhouse almost pulled it back before coming up just short.
Competition in all of the age groups was remarkably close. Neither school managed a clean sweep in any of them, and nine games were decided by four points or less.

Hilton in the pink after win over Michaelhouse | Pinnacle Schools (pinnacle-schools.com)
Michaelhouse enjoyed the better of the cricket results, with seven wins to Hilton’s two, but it was the visitors who claimed the 1st team honours on a challenging pitch and a heavy outfield, which did not easily give up boundaries.

In the pool, Hilton College, with four KZN A players and one in the KZN B side in their ranks, were favoured to comfortably handle Michaelhouse, but they spent the majority of the clash trailing. It was only late in the fourth quarter that they were able to draw level with House, before scoring a late winner on the counterattack.
Most of the results went Hilton’s way, but three of them were by just a single goal.
