After a win over Maritzburg College, followed by a loss to Westville Boys’ High, Michaelhouse faced the KZN Inland Hub XI in a One Insurance Night League match at Eston on Tuesday.
Bowling first, the boys in red were a little bit untidy in the field, but they took wickets at regular intervals to restrict the Inland Hub XI to just 116 for 7 in their 20 overs.
Paceman Michael Thornton was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 2 for 15 in his four overs, while off-spinner Patrick Lambert captured 2 for 16 in three, and seamer Radhesh Jhilmeet 2 for 25 in four.
Opener West Mitchell-Innes then led the House reply, striking an unbeaten 56 from 39 deliveries to see the Balgowan boys to a comfortable eight-wicket win with eight overs to spare.
Ethan Muir also did his bit with the bat, making 41 from 25 balls before he was bowled around his legs by the Inland XI’s leg-spinner Mabazo.
