More Olympiad accolades for Kearsney

The academic accolades continue to roll in for Kearsney College. The latest high achievements, following in the footsteps of excellent results in national history and mathematics Olympiads, have been produced in some style in geography.

Kearsney College prides itself on its academic excellence and regularly challenges its students to participate in a wide variety of national Olympiads. The results are consistently outstanding, and that excellence has continued in the SA Geography Olympiad.

The event, recently held, attracted 2 965 entrants from 151 schools, and Kearsney representatives performed brilliantly. Eight of the Botha’s Hill boys featured in the top 5 percent in South Africa or, to put it another way, the school placed eight boys within the top 150 candidates in the country.

Gold Status

Each of the eight – Jasper Bruno, Ross Coetzee, Tyrique Fynn, Sheyn le Roux, Kaylin Moodley, Josh Robertson, Maano Setimela and Jack White – were awarded Gold Status.

Not far behind them, four others – Gregor Campbell, Carl Jansen van Vuuren, Adam Gray and Luke Emanuel – finished in the top 10 percent countrywide.
