A history of excellence
Kearsney College’s renowned Choir is already preparing for the World Choir Games, which will be hosted in New Zealand in 2024. The Choir and Orchestra are synonymous with energetic performances, delivered in a slick and professional manner. They are synonymous, too, with a blend of classical, pop and indigenous music, which has delivered the Choir an international following of appreciative supporters.
Kearsney’s record at the World Choir Games – the Olympics for Choirs – is truly astounding: at previous events, the Choir has won 15 gold medals, seven silvers, and has been named the World Champions on four occasions.
Twice previously, the Choir has represented the African continent at the Rhythms of One World Music Festival at the United Nations European Headquarters in Geneva and in New York.
In 2022, the Choir was awarded the Prize of the City of Vienna at the 33rd International Youth and Music Festival in Austria.
