22 June 2023
Saint Andrew’s School, in Bloemfontein, is the host of the 2023 under-18 Independent Schools Rugby Festival, which kicks off on Saturday, 24 June, with the first round of matches. Further fixtures will follow on Monday, 26 June and Wednesday, 28 June.
The line-up includes KwaZulu-Natal schools’ Kearsney College, Hilton College, Clifton College and Saint Charles College, as well as Saint Andrew’s, Union High, Cornwall Hill College, Saint Alban’s College, Saint Stithian’s College, Saint David’s Marist Inanda, CBC Boksburg, and a Free State Development Team.
A number of the KZN schools will field teams with an eye towards 2024. That’s because they’ll have a number of their players on duty for the Sharks at various inter-provincial tournaments during the holidays.
Pinnacle Schools will cover the matches and provide YouTube highlights of the games played by the KZN schools.
The full programme, including the team sheets, is available on the Saint Andrew’s School Facebook page: Saint Andrew’s School, Bloemfontein | Bloemfontein | Facebook
The sponsors of the event include Investec, MTN, Invicta, Mimosa Mall and Garden City Motors.
