Northwood hosts National Public Boys’ Schools Conference

20 June 2023

Northwood School recently played host to the three-day-long Association of Public Boys’ Schools of South Africa (APBSA) Conference, with attendees from across the country travelling to Durban to be a part of the event.

These included Principals, Deputy Principals and other representatives of many of the leading schools in South Africa. It was an opportunity for them to enhance established relationships and to build new ones, too.

The focus of the conference was on sharing ideas and expertise to stimulate and educate in an ever-evolving school environment.  A holistic approach was adopted, with the topic of “Educating Young Men of Conscience” being explored.

Deputy Principal of Northwood, Mr Reggie Govender, was responsible for compiling the programme.

There was time, too, for entertainment and laughter, with the Northwood School Choir performing, and well-known local comedian Aaron McIlroy tickling the funny bone.

The Northwood Choir impressed the APBSA delegates with their performance.
