The Maritzburg College 1st XI hosted Carter High on Barns on Thursday afternoon in a clash to determine which school would finish top of their group in the KZN High School Football Association’s second term Inland competition.
The game produced some cracking goals, but it wasn’t the red, black and white’s best performance reckoned Maritzburg College Director of Soccer, Nic Haswell. However, they showed, in having to come from behind, “the indescribable College fighting spirit”.
“Incredibly proud of the boys in that regard,” Haswell said.
Next up, College takes on Alexandra High School in the semi-finals on 1 June. Haythorne and Linpark meet in the other semi.
