RUGBY
Maritzburg College’s depth was on show at the weekend as they tackled Clifton on the rugby field, as well as Howick and Voortrekker.
Despite resting some key players, College came away with the 1st XV win at the Riverside Sports Club, but Clifton gave a good account of themselves, doing well in the territorial battle. However, College’s ability to strike from far out won them the game.

HOCKEY
On the Astro, Clifton and College engaged in a host of well contested matches, with Clifton winning four, College victorious in six, and one draw being shared. Most notably, among those results was a first ever win for Clifton over the Red Army in the 1st XI game.
College controlled large parts of the contest, but Clifton refused to buckle and eventually turned the tide in the second half to come away with the win.
The College under-16 A team continued to build upon a strong season recording a 3-1 win over Clifton, but the Durban school ran out winners in the under-14A clash by a 4-2 margin.
