Glenwood’s matric class of 2022 produced one of KwaZulu-Natal’s top achievers, with Keenan Rajah placing first in the Umlazi District and sixth in the province with eight distinctions.

All-round excellence

His achievement did not come as a surprise; at the 2022 Glenwood Senior Prize Giving he walked away with a bevy of awards, including (and the list is long):

The Jamieson Floating Trophy for Mathematics; the Price Waterhouse Coopers Award for the Most Improved in Accounting; the Prof Lang Memorial Award for English; the JML Basson Award for English/Afrikaans Bilingualism; the MJ Sjolander Award for Combined Mathematics and Physical Science; the JB Colam Memorial Award for Physical Science; the Grant Thornton Award for Accounting; the Investec Bank Award for Business Studies; the Price Waterhouse Coopers Award for Accounting/Business Studies; and the Life Orientation Award.

Rajah was, unsurprisingly, first in class and received academic honours. Multi-talented, he also added the Top u21 Sporter prize for target shooting at the 2002 Glenwood Senior Prize Giving.

Other leading achievers from Glenwood included the Dux Proxime Accessit, Leshay Ramdhin, and Sohil Singh, who both received seven distinctions.

The school had a pass rate of 97.5 percent, with 75.2 percent of the boys achieving Bachelor’s Degree passes.
