Four Northwood boys achieved distinctions in all seven of their subjects.

Northwood School’s matric class of 2022 celebrated outstanding results when the marks were released recently. With a 98.8 percent pass rate, the school achieved the highest pass rate among all boys’ public schools in KwaZulu-Natal.

Four boys achieved distinctions in all seven of their subjects: Tanay Mooruth, Michael Naidoo, Khawulani Thwala and Uzayr Sarkhot.

Top three learners

Mooruth led all Northwood learners with an average of 92 percent; Michael Naidoo, in second place, averaged 91 percent; and Suven Naidoo, who averaged 89 percent, was third.

Jaden Chetty, Preyen Govender and Suven Naidoo each received six distinctions, while Tye Allen, Devaj Jairam, Trevin Reddy, Ethan Govender, Kyush Mahadeo and Yash Krishenpersad recorded five distinctions each.

A total of 24 boys worked their way to A aggregates, while 80 percent of the students received Bachelor Degree passes.

The overall average for the grade 12 group was 65.4 percent, with 227 subject distinctions being achieved.
