22 October 2023
From Friday to Sunday, the future class of 2024 went head-to-head at Northwood School over the course of three action-filled days, in 23 games, at the Northwood Stayers Water Polo Tournament.
On the last day, in what was arguably the game of the tournament, Kearsney College secured their spot in the title-decider after edging out Clifton College in a penalty shootout. The teams had played to an 8-8 draw.
The final pitted Kearsney against their near neighbours and rivals, Westville Boys’ High, with the Botha’s Hill boys outlasting Westville 8-6 to take the crown. They also finished the event as the only team to go unbeaten.
Clifton defeated Northwood 6-4 in the playoff for third and fourth.
