The Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre has thanked the Kearsney College 1st XV for its support of the centre through a Tries for Lives campaign.
Making a difference
Every time the One Stripes crossed for a try during the course of the 2023 season, pledges from donors were added to a pot, which finished at just over R17 000.
In a Facebook post, Ethelbert lauded the support of the players and coach, Neil van Heerden.
The Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre, located in Queensburgh, is a registered non-profit and public benefits organisation. It specialises in the full-time care, rehabilitation and support of vulnerable, abandoned and abused children within Kwa-Zulu Natal.
As a residential place of safety, Ethelbert supports 65 beneficiaries, aged from 18 months to 18 years.

History of the Centre
The Child and Youth Centre has been in existence since 1907 when the Corbishley family built it as a memorial to the tragic loss of their son by drowning. Since its establishment, it has since been supported by the Methodist Church.
