Tim Saulez sets Clifton 1st XI batting record

Clifton College’s Tim Saulez recorded a memorable milestone on Wednesday, scoring 166 off of 119 balls against Volkskool Heidelberg at the Riverside Sports Club. It established a new record for the Clifton 1st XI.

Previously, the highest score belonged to Aaron Paul, who scored 164 against Krugersdorp High in 2016.

Just ahead of the Oppenheimer Michaelmas Cricket Week, which begins on Saturday, Clifton overwhelmed the visitors.

With Saulez leading the way, they tallied a huge 376 for 4 in their 50 overs. They then bowled out Heidelberg for 123 to win by 253 runs.

Clifton face Saint David’s Marist Inanda at Richmond, Pretoria Boys High at Collegians, Grey College at Varsity 1, and KES at Lynwood over the four days of the Oppenheimer Michaelmas Cricket Week.
