Maritzburg College has finished top of the KZN Schools MTB Series after four rounds of competition, held at Waterfall College, the Fulton School for the Deaf, Maritzburg College and Grace College. At each of the four stops, College cyclists outscored their opposition.
They were pushed hard by Saint Charles College at Waterfall, finishing only four points clear of their fellow Pietermaritzburg school, but were convincing winners at the next three events.
“I am super proud,” said College Head of Cycling, Kerry Bartholomew.
Seven College boys have been selected for the Cycling Nationals at the end of this month. They include Reuben Price, Daniel Jenneker, Kayden Searle, Luke Newlands, Cole Sellick, Brent Foster and Michael Jewaskiewitz.
Saints finished second on the table, while Westville Boys’ High and Northwood shared third place.
