The Jeppe and DHS 1st hockey teams, two of the best in South Africa in 2023, met in a fascinating clash in Johannesburg on Friday evening. Fascinating, because of the manner in which the black and white spread the field, opening up huge swathes of the park, which led to opportunities for the sides, both blessed with confident players on the ball, to drive hard at one another, especially down the flanks.
It went down to the wire, but Jeppe shaded it 3-2 after an entertaining showdown.
