Kearsney College hosted 15 high school groups for their annual Dance@Kearsney Festival on the weekend. Energy, expression, creativity, and excitement were the name of the game as the talented teams delighted with performances in a diverse range of styles.
The popular festival drew dancers from St Mary’s DSG, Curro Hillcrest, Westville Girls, Kearsney College (pictured), Imbeleko, Our Lady of Fatima, Maris Stella, Eden College, Durban Girls High, BoNana Dance Academy, Reddam House Umhlanga, St John’s DSG, Voortrekker High, Epworth and Pietermaritzburg Girls High.
Following the Dance@Kearsney Festival, the Culture@Kearsney programme barely has time to catch its breath before Words@Kearsney happens on 10 August, followed by a Photography exhibition, under the theme of “Documenting our Lives”, which runs from 12 to 17 August.
Words@Kearsney includes slam poetry, rap, prepared poems, dramatised poetry and choral verse.
