Hilton College hosts the Primo Big 10 Football Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, with the 1st XIs of the top 10 KZN boys’ schools in action.
Michaelhouse are the defending champions, but they go into the event on the back of a loss to 2022’s runners-up, Saint Charles College, last weekend.
The competition begins with three groups – two groups of three schools and one of four – followed by cross-pool playoffs. The top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed teams will qualify for the quarterfinals, with the remaining two sides playing off for 9th and 10th.
Groups
Group A features Hilton, Maritzburg College and Clifton. Saint Charles is joined in Group B by Westville and Northwood, while Group C includes Michaelhouse, Glenwood (who won the 2nd term u19 Coastal League), DHS (winners of the Kearsney Soccer Tournament), and Kearsney.
Some outstanding football talent was on show at the Kearsney Soccer Tournament during the recent holidays, and at the KZN u16 KO Cup last weekend, so the expectation is for some exciting and entertaining matches at Hilton College.

Matches will be played over two 25-minute halves, with a five-minute break between.
