Coming up shortly, from 11 to 17 August 2023, the Culture@Kearsney programme is hosting its annual high school photo competition, titled “Documenting our Lives”.
The final date for submissions is Saturday, 22 July. Then, the exhibition opens from 12 to 17 August.
There are five categories, including Wildlife, The Art of Space, My Inspiration, Architecture and Dusk to Dawn, which allows photographers to explore a wide variety of options.

Culture@Kearsney
The Culture@Kearsney programme includes an art exhibition, which was hosted in March, Words@Kearsney, which takes place on 10 August, The Kearsney Drama Festival, which was held in mid-June, and the Dance Festival, which is approaching rapidly, and will be held on 27 and 28 July.
Entries for Words@Kearsney, with its theme of “Great Expectations”, close on 1 August. According to the tagline, it’s about “Using literature and poetry to establish a sense of fun and relevance throughout life”.
The genres include slam poetry, rap, prepared poems, dramatised poetry (prepared or original) and choral verse. Presentations will be restricted to no more than three minutes each.

Dance Festival
The theme for the Dance Festival is “Tell a Story”. Each participating school will be able to submit one or two dance items, no longer than six minutes in duration, featuring original choreography.
