The games between the KZN Coastal A and B teams and the KZN Inland A and B teams produced some fine hockey on the second day of the 2023 u18 Inter-provincial Hockey Tournament in Bloemfontein on Monday.
The Coastal A side found their B team a difficult opponent to break down, but they found the one goal that counted to secure a narrow 1-0 victory. Meanwhile, the match between the Inland sides was action-packed, with the senior team edging it 4-3, although the last goal scored by the B team was after the final hooter had sounded.
The Coastal A team upped their performance considerably to account for Boland in the early evening, running out 3-0 winners, while Inland A outlasted Eastern Province 3-2 in a midday clash.
KZN Inland B also played Boland. Despite a strong showing in the opening game of the day, they went down 0-1.
If you’re able to watch, set your alarm for 14:40 on Tuesday. That’s when KZN Coastal A takes on KZN Inland A. It should be a cracker!
