It was a good day for Hilton College when they visited Saint Charles College in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, 22 April, with the visitors’ first teams claiming victories in both the hockey and rugby matches.
Hockey
Results largely favoured Hilton but, in a topsy-turvy set of under-16 hockey matches, Saint Charles picked up a couple of good wins.
A tight contest was expected between the two 1st teams, based on their results at the Nomads Festival, where they played four teams in common. However, Hilton College held the edge on the Saints Astro, putting together a solid 3-0 victory.

Rugby
Hilton College posted a convincing 39-10 victory over Saint Charles in the main game on Old Orchards, but Saints have shown this season that they’re continuing to make progress and have some talent in their ranks. After a brilliant 2022, the Hilton 1st XV has demonstrated that it remains a tough out for any opposition.
The Saints’ under-15A team provided Hilton with a stern examination, but the visiting school recorded a big win in the under-16A game and a comfortable victory in the under-14A clash.
