RUGBY
A high-quality clash was predicted for the showdown between the Westville and DHS 1st XVs, and so it proved to be. Playing on Van Heerden’s, the home side claimed an impressive win over a Westville team that had gone through the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival unscathed, where their wins included a victory over English powerhouse, Hartpury College.
In a back-and-forth battle between two top sides, the Westville under-16A team edged out DHS by three points. The Horseflies also triumphed at under-15A level, by a single try, while the DHS under-14A side shone with a dominant victory over their Griffin counterparts.
Overall, in 19 matches, DHS won 12 and Westville won seven.
