BASKETBALL
Hilton College’s positive development on the basketball court was front and centre as they gave Michaelhouse, the winners of the inaugural Jenny Orchard Invitational Basketball Tournament all they could handle before ceding victory by just a single point to their traditional rivals.
Although tightly contested, Hilton managed to win five out of five in the under-14 age group, but Michaelhouse returned the favour by winning all four under-16 games.
The Michaelhouse under-15A team, which performed superbly in the recent Saint John’s Basketball Tournament against many of the country’s top teams, scored a big win over their Hilton counterparts, but Hilton edged the age group by three wins to two.

CRICKET
Only two cricket matches were completed before rain put an end to the day’s programme. Both went the way of Michaelhouse, including an eye-opening win for their under-15 C side, who skittled Hilton in no time at all before chasing down the small victory target to win by eight wickets.

The water polo competition between the two rivals was robust. Neither school established a clear advantage, although Hilton came away with a slightly more favourable record after some hard-fought battles.
