BASKETBALL

In a meeting of two of KZN’s top teams, and two of the top teams in South Africa, Michaelhouse scored something of a surprise victory over Northwood. The Durbanites had, after all, recently brought an end to Saint Charles College’s hugely impressive 26-game unbeaten run, and, the following weekend, Saints had beaten Michaelhouse. It was the Knights’ first loss of the season.

Michaelhouse enjoyed the better of the under-16 games, but Northwood came away with the better under-15 results, while the u14 games were very evenly contested.

CRICKET

The 1st XI match between Michaelhouse and the Knights was rained out with Northwood chasing a small total. The visitors enjoyed the better of the games in the open age group, but at under-16 level the best match of the day went the way of ‘House, who chased down a total of 170 to capture a two-wicket win. Meanwhile, Northwood’s under-15 A side romped to the most convincing win, defeating Michaelhouse by 9 wickets.

The Michaelhouse 1st team played two matches, going down by two goals to Saint Benedict’s College (Johannesburg) before handing Northwood an 11-7 loss. In 10 matches, though, it was all square, with Northwood winning five and Michaelhouse scoring five wins.
