Saint Charles College welcomed the Head of Department of Music of the Royal Ballet in London, Rob Clark, to the school on Tuesday, with Saints’ pianists being treated to a coaching session with him.
Before they played, though, Mr Clark took to the keys and delivered a moving performance in front of the Saints’ Head of Music, Pierre Frenzel, and his charges. Then it was on to receiving instruction from Mr Clark.
“This was an excellent learning experience since Mr Clark has so much experience and is very inspiring,” said Joshua de Wet.
“It was an enjoyable experience, and it really helped me to build up to the chords in Moonlight Sonata,” commented Harshad Pillay.
Tiag Jacobs weighed-in, saying: “Mr Clark really helped me create more contrast in the music, making the melody more pronounced. ”
