Saint Charles’ cricketers celebrated a special ceremony on Friday, when the senior school 1st XI met their primary school brothers at The Oval to hand out caps to the Prep 1st XI.
Saints’ Director of Sport, Rowan Irons, who coached the Prep 1st XI for a decade, shared some memories of his time with the team before Matthew Urquhart, the 1st XI captain and a former Prep 1st XI player, delivered a speech to inspire the 12-player Prep squad.
The players were then presented with their caps. After that, it was time for some bonding with a rousing rendition of the school’s war cry.
