Northwood honours top 2022 academic achievers

Northwood celebrated its leading academic achievers of 2022 at a Prize-Giving event held in the school hall this week. The Principal, Paul Viljoen, also presented the prestigious Headmaster’s Award to two learners.

The Headmaster’s Award is presented to a Squire, who was in either grade 8 or grade 9 the previous year, who not only performed well in the classroom, but who also exhibited a good attitude, resilience, and conducted himself in exemplary fashion towards his teachers and peers, both on and off the field.

Tristan Parkinson was honoured with the award for the grade 8 group, while the grade 9 award was presented to Luke Allen (photo, top of article).

The top three performers in each grade received special recognition. They were:

Grade 8

1^st: Michail Steenkamp
2^nd: Shahid Naidoo
3^rd: Keegan Doyle

Grade 9

1^st: Daelin Padavattan
2^nd: Devaughn Govender
3^rd: Jerome Naidoo

Grade 10

1^st: James Ivey
2^nd: Luke Walter-Girout
3^rd: Suvay Dass

Grade 11

1^st: Yakecen Govender
2^nd: Lesharn Govender
3^rd: Leal Jensen
